With Alaska camps opening August 1st, here are some of last years top underclassmen from the offensive skilled positions to watch.
As a sophomore, Juneau's Chris Hinkley, 6'4 200 won the QB duties before midseason and went on to have a breakout season. He had such an impressive year that he ended the season #15 on the Alaska All-Time Single Season Leaders list, passing for 1,413 yards, 16 Td's and only 2 INT's. Other players to watch this 2005 season from the large schools will be North Pole Sr. Chris Powell, 6'5 190, East Sr. Chad Nading, 6'4 190, Lathrop Sr. Derek Stevenson, 5'10 160, Juneau Sr. Pat Kohan, 6'1 200 and from the small schools Seward Sr. Coty Beck, 6'2 190 and Homer's Canyon McKinstry.
